The Annual National Farmers’ and Fishers’ Day was to be held on 3rd December, 2021 at Cape Coast under the them: ‘Planting for Food and Jobs – Consolidating Food Systems in Ghana’.
The Upper Denkyira West District Celebration was held on Friday, 26th November, 2021 at Ayanfuri to reward Fifteen (15) Farmers, Fisher folks and persons in the Agricultural value chain in various categories in recognition of their sustained effort at ensuring agricultural and fishery production and food security in the District.
The ocassion which was under the Chairmanship of Nana Kwaku Yamoah, of Ayanfuri had the Disytrict Chief Executive, Hon. Richmond Koduah as the the Guest Speaker. He delivered a speech which tauted government’s achievement in the Agric sector and outlined other interventions to improve the sector.
Mr. Samuel Nsiah of Agona Port was adjudged the District Best Farmer and received tricycle and other items including certificate as his reward.
The event was supported by Perseus Mining Ghana Limited, NIB Bank, Upper Amenfi Rural Bank, Geodrill Company, Mr. Awudu Issaka and host of other Philantropists.
