HON. RANDY APPIAH-MENSAH ELECTED AS PRESIDING MEMBER

HON. RANDY APPIAH-MENSAH HAS BEEN ELECTED AS PRESIDING MEMBER. 

The Upper Denkyira West District Assembly has elected Hon. Randy Appiah-Mensah, Assembly member for the Diaso electoral area, as the new presiding member of the Assembly. The election was held on Tuesday, 29th September, 2026 at the Upper Denkyira West District Assembly hall in Diaso in accordance with the relevant provisions governing the election of a presiding member of a District Assembly.

Hon. Randy Appiah-Mensah secured 17 out of 20 vote cast, representing 85% of votes, to emerge victorious. He contested against Hon. Issaka Mumuni, who also vied for the position. Following the declaration of the results, Hon-Randy Appiah–Mensah was duly sworn into office as the presiding member of the Upper Denkyira West District Assembly.

The election reflects the collective decision of Assembly Members to provide a strong and inclusive leadership for the house .The Assembly look forward to working under the leadership of the new presiding member to deepen democratic local governance ,strengthen accountability and accelerate the implementation of key development programs in education ,healthcare ,road, water, sanitation, energy ,local economic development, agriculture ,market ,infrastructure, social protection and community development.
